A grammarian could propose the use of Might instead of May in our heading but we respond: It is the merry month of May; not the merry month of Might. So, let us be merry.
Something New For You
The Landing at Seven Central and John Martin, formerly of A Hot Dish, Hilton International, Hyatt Resort Hotels and DeMarco's of Nantucket, have formed a new catering company (Catering By-the-Sea) to provide superior catering services for corporate and personal events of all sizes throughout the North Shore.
With a Special Bonus
And, if you are a Landing Loyalty Club member, you'll earn a 5 per cent 'Thank You' award on any catering purchase.
Double hoorah for a catering company with the expertise and experience to handle any event and one that also appreciates (and rewards) customer loyalty.
For more information and scheduling, call Chris Shea at The Landing (978 - 526 - 7494).
May Dinner Specials
Continuing with our Recession Busting campaign, you can get two entrees for the price of one every Wednesday throughout the month in the dining room.
Note: We hope you took advantage of all our specials during the winter months. In true chicken-or-egg reasoning, we will end our Recession Buster offers in May so the recession can end as well. Regardless of any offer, and aside from some cellar-dwelling, mean-spirited economist with a grudge, no one likes a summer recession.
A Performance by His Lordship & The Erstwhiles
His Lordship has donated a personal appearance and concert by the Erstwhiles to this year's Manchester-Essex Rotary Club Auction Evening - Saturday, the 9th, at the American Legion Hall. The evening will also be catered by our own, newly-formed Catering By-the-Sea. It will be a fun evening.
Other featured auction items include golf foursomes at Bass Rocks, Essex County Club and Blackstone National.
So, if an at-home evening concert of Irish melodies served up with your Mac & Cheese isn't dream perfect, perhaps you could bid on a combo - a round of golf with hole-by-hole operatic accompaniment by The Erstwhiles. That's an insta-image worth sharing.
Thankful Tuesday, the 19th
As part of our ongoing Thankful Tuesday program, there will be a benefit dinner night for the West Gloucester Community Church on Tuesday, the 19th.
Come by, have dinner in suppport of the organizationent and we will make a contribution equal to 20 per cent of your total food and beverage purchase.
We also award a 5 per cent 'Thanks For Your Help' reward to any Landing Loyalty Club member who introduces The Landing's Thankful Tuesdays program to a local charity.
This is a real way to help a non-profit organization of your choice and enjoy an evening out. For more information and scheduling, call Chris Shea at The Landing (978 - 526 - 7494).

The cribbagers will assemble in The Pub on Sunday, the 17th, starting at 6 p.m.
According to His Lordship's stand-in, the First Place Finisher was some guy and the 2nd Placer was some other guy. Skunks were unrecorded.

Janice & Will will host an Open Mic session in The Pub, starting around 6:30 p.m.
Petite Chorale Mini Concert & Supper - Monday, the 25th

DAY JOB Does Evening Work on Friday, the 29th
DAY JOB will perform on Friday, the 29th to benefit the Disaster Relief Effort of American Red Cross of Northeastern Massachusetts.
DAY JOB is actually the Sarah Wilwerth-Dyer family band, which includes an ever-changing assembly of Wilwerth clan members.
Between band members and audience - which are interchangable - the evening should be about 9.65 on the fun-o-meter, so make a reservation. There will be a $10 cover charge for the benefit.
April Contest Winners
Toby Waitt won our April Food Trivia contest when she correctly answered that orchids are the source of natural vanilla flavoring.
Coleen Bullard won our Birthday Imposter quizlet, when she singled out Tyra Banks as the imposter - not born on April 13, 1981 but on December 4, 1973.
Think you know the answers or can just out-guess the rest of us?
Other May Rememberables
Mug & Cocktail Club members will get $10 off every food purchase on Monday, the 4th and again on Monday, the 18th.
Wine Clubbers get the same on Mondays, the 11th and 25th.
If you're not a member of one or both, sign up online or when you come in.
Also, don't forget Trivia Night with Brian every Wednesday in the Pub and our Golf, Bike & Summer Sports Night every Thursday in the Pub.
Final Thought
As warm weather approaches, let us rejoice and sing: Summer is coming, the goose is getting - - - thin.
Because no one wants to go to our beautiful Singing Beach and see a fat goose in a Speedo.
Take care. Be well. And stop by.
